Databricks Energy & Utilities Industry Forum
Transforming Critical Infrastructure with Databricks
Databricks Energy & Utilities Industry Forum
Live Event
Wednesday, 20 May 2026 | 09:00-12:00
Park Hyatt, 7 Nine Elms Lane, Nine Elms, London, SW8 5PH
Data and AI are transforming how critical energy and utilities infrastructure is planned, operated and decarbonised. From predictive maintenance on ageing assets to intelligent demand forecasting and real-time incident response, organisations across electricity, gas and water are rethinking how they use data to keep the lights on, the gas and heat flowing, the taps running and emissions falling.
We're sponsoring this exclusive, single-track, half-day forum bringing together professionals from across power, gas and water utilities to share their data and AI journeys on Databricks. Whether you’re modernising legacy infrastructure, scaling AI‑driven operations, improving service reliability or tackling new regulatory pressures, this forum is designed for practitioners and decision‑makers across the UKI energy and utilities ecosystem.
In the meantime, check out our demos below, bringing Databricks to life across the Energy & Utilities industry.

Asset Performance Command Centre
An AI-powered fleet health monitoring platform that gives energy and utilities operators a single view across their entire asset portfolio (wind turbines, solar farms, substations, and transformers) with real-time health scores, predictive failure alerts, and autonomous AI agents that investigate anomalies before they become costly outages. The platform surfaces critical risks as they emerge, quantifies financial exposure, and delivers plain-language root cause diagnoses with recommended actions. Any stakeholder can interrogate the fleet in seconds using natural language, without needing to dig through dashboards.

Grid Modernisation Studio
A renewable energy mix optimisation simulator for GB-scale grid planning. Users adjust sliders (wind capacity, solar, storage, gas) and the app instantly re-runs a simulation showing the 24-hour dispatch stack, KPIs (LCOE, carbon intensity, stability score, renewable penetration, curtailment), and a trade-off radar across multiple scenarios. Built on a React frontend, FastAPI simulation engine, and Databricks backend (Unity Catalog +DLT). An AI insight layer generates plain-language engineering briefs from the simulation outputs, helping grid planners build evidence for capital allocation decisions quickly, with a clear path to swap synthetic data for live metered feeds.
Sustainability & ESG Reporting Assistant
An AI-powered platform for the Energy & Utilities sector that helps companies create, validate, and manage ESG reports across major regulatory frameworks (GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, CSRD, ISSB). It tracks data from source systems like SAP, Oracle, and IoT/SCADA sensors through to final reports, with full data lineage, compliance validation, and AI-generated narrative sections. The frontend is built with React 19 + TypeScript + Next.js + Tailwind CSSv4, backed by a FastAPI Python API connecting to Databricks Unity Catalog. It is designed to deploy on Databricks Apps, with pages for a KPI dashboard, reports, analytics, compliance checks, regulatory frameworks, and settings.

Energy Field Operations
This is React single-page application serves as an operations dashboard for energy field teams across 8 UK regions. It provides a rich operational picture, interactive maps with demand/gap/risk overlays, KPI grids, engineer and job tracking, weather context, capacity forecasts, and alert badges. The layout combines a map and forecast view at the top with a tabbed analytics panel (Capacity, Forecast, Risk, Actions) below. An AI copilot delivers contextual morning briefings and responds to operational queries in real time, with suggested actions that update dynamically based on conversation context. CTA buttons surface follow-up insights, and suggested response pills update dynamically based on conversation context. On the data platform side, the application is backed by Databricks: Delta Live Tables continuously ingests and transforms field telemetry, job updates, and engineer status feeds into a curated set of operational tables governed through Unity Catalog, ensuring consistent access controls and data lineage across regions. The AI copilot is powered by a model served via Databricks Model Serving.
